Save a game to your shelf using the bookmark button on any card, then open Settings using the cog in the top right and turn on Price drop alerts. iOS will ask permission once.

By default every game on your shelf is watched. If you would rather pick a few, set Alert me about to Only games I pick, then tap the bell on each shelf row to choose which ones.

A few things to check, in order:

• Price drop alerts is on in the app's Settings
• Deal Shelf is allowed to send notifications in iOS Settings → Notifications → Deal Shelf
• You have games saved, and — if you chose Only games I pick — at least one has its bell turned on

Beyond that, a price genuinely has to fall. The app only notifies when a watched game drops below the lowest price it had previously recorded, and the drop has to be meaningful rather than a few cents. A game that is already near its floor may go a long time without an alert.

iOS also decides when background checks run, based on battery, network and how often you open the app. To check immediately, use Check prices now in Settings.

It is the lowest price CheapShark has ever recorded for that game across the stores it tracks. It is the number worth paying attention to.

The percentage on each card is off that store's own full price, which is easy to inflate. A game showing "90% off" may still be more expensive than it was last month. The detail screen shows today's price against the all-time low so you can tell the difference.

Open a game and tell the app whether you've played it — Liked it, Played it or Not for me. The For you tab then looks for discounted games with a similar character and ranks them, and each row says which of your games the suggestion came from.

It needs a few ratings before it has anything useful to say, and it improves as you rate more. Games you've marked as played are never recommended back to you. All of this happens on your device — nothing about your ratings is uploaded.

Prices come from CheapShark, which refreshes on its own schedule, so a very recent change may take a little while to appear. Regional pricing, store-specific sales and currency conversion can also differ from what CheapShark reports.

Always confirm the final price on the store's own page before buying.

Every link opens CheapShark's redirect page, which then forwards you to the store. That is a condition of using their API for free, not a choice the app made.

In Settings, open Import Steam wishlist — or, while your shelf is empty, use the button on the Shelf tab — and paste your Steam profile link or custom URL name. Every wishlisted game sold by a store the app tracks goes on your shelf, full-price ones included.

"Steam returned no games" usually means the wishlist is private. In Steam's privacy settings, set Game details to Public and try again. An empty wishlist shows the same message.

A long wishlist comes in over a few imports. The app matches up to 50 games an hour against the stores it tracks, and tells you how many it hasn't checked yet. Import again an hour later and it carries on from there, without adding anything twice.

"Not sold by any store we track yet" usually means the game isn't out, or no store the app covers sells it right now. The app checks those again from time to time, so a later import can add them.

The link goes straight from your phone to Steam; nothing is sent to us.

Not currently. Your shelf is stored only on your device — there is no account and no server — so it does not sync, and deleting the app erases it. That trade-off is what lets the app work with no sign-up and collect nothing about you.

If the games you care about are on your Steam wishlist, importing it on the new device brings them back — see the question above.

Tap the bookmark button on a card to take that game off the shelf. Settings shows how many you currently have stored on the device.

To erase everything the app has saved at once — your shelf, your watched games, your ratings and your settings — delete the app.
